Time-Lapse fun.

July 11, 2009

Sorry, no sound or anything. My first attempt at a time-lapse video of me painting.
One image every 10 seconds of real time – playback is at 6 frames per second.
The lighting gets a little odd midway. Could be glare from the fresh paint.
This piece is tentatively titled Solo. There is no particular direction that this painting is headed. Just sort of painting and see what happens. You probably notice a grid on the panel. This starts off as a small reference photo from a photo shoot with a model. Enlarged using a grid system. The refence gets me started but then is put away while i paint. I like to have a conversation so-to-speak with the painting. In the end, the piece may look nothing like the original reference material. But then, that’s half the fun.

      Hey Miss Honey,
      Thanks for your wonderful comments.
And, for that matter, the link from your blog. I think most of my blog views come from your direction.
Stay tuned, part two of Solo time-lapse should be up in a few days (if my wife doesn’t keep coming up with more summer projects for me to work on).
      Take care,
      Scott

  2. Hey Scott. It’s totally worth adding music to these time lapse videos. I have done a few on my site and everyone who has seen them has commented that the music makes a big difference. Tehy are fun to make and pretty easy so go for it.

Also FYI I now use a site called vimeo.com to host my vids and its free.

    Cheerio
